Quarterly review of the tri-borough Regulatory Services Partnership pdf icon PDF 67 KB

Additional documents:

The Head of the Regulatory Services Partnership presented the report and gave an overview of the progress to date noting it had been 3 months since the transfer of Wandsworth staff to the Partnership.

The Head of the Regulatory Services Partnership tabled an amended version of Table 3 with some updated figures, a copy of which has been published online here and gave an overview of the figures.

Members considered the report in depth and asked questions regarding potential income generation, staff issues and ICT. Councillor Draper expressed concerns about performance related pay schemes which he felt were unfair, caused staff resentment and didn’t make a significant difference to performance.

In response to discussion regarding income generation, the Head of the Regulatory Services Partnership and the  Assistant Director of Public Protection advised that the vision was to become more commercial and as part of that there were a number of services which were currently provided free of charge which could potentially be provided at a charge in future. Members were in agreement that this should be assessed by officers with a view to charging for services where appropriate and deliverable. Councillor Fleming expressed concerns that the proposed savings should not impact on front line service delivery.

Members and officers expressed their thanks to all involved with the work undertaken within the partnership.

RESOLVED: That Members noted the progress following the inclusion of Wandsworth Borough Council into the Regulatory Services Partnership.
